Supernove is a multimedia journey of meetings, workshops and performances about women and the scientific world. Thanks to the Wikimedia Teatro Libero Award, the project began in January 2021 with a series of interviews conducted by Carlotta Vitale, Miranda Masini and Lavinia Molinari with professionals in the field, including Rosa Lasaponara, electronic engineer; Massimiliano Lovallo, hydraulic engineer; Vania Cauzillo, director working in the field of science communication with LiberaScienza Festival; Faezeh Karimian, physicist; Giovanna Ranci, Wikimedia Education Manager; Anisa Kuci, OpenStreetMap Wikimedia Manager; and Marina Latini, programmer.

From May to August 2021, remote dramaturgical research sessions were scheduled, followed by an in-person multimedia creation residency with Andrea Ciommiento at U-Platz in Potenza, Gommalacca Teatro’s operational headquarters. Through this process, all the collected materials were reworked and channelled into an interactive format aimed at building a multimedia narrative featuring three video stations, three performers and three intertwined stories connected to the project’s themes.

The multimedia performance Supernove was officially presented on Friday, September 24, 2021, at 4:00 p.m., during SuperScienceMe – European Researchers’ Night 2021 at the CNR in Tito Scalo (PZ), and on Friday, October 29, 2021, at 4:30 p.m., during SEGNI, the theatre festival for new generations, at the Loggia del Grano in Mantua.
